A Trip to Indiana

Fashion/ Style

This past week I spent some quality time in my home state, Indiana. It was so fun being with my lovely parents, eating home cooked meals, shopping in Indianapolis, and getting my mom and dad hooked on the Netflix show “House of Cards”.

Processed with VSCO with m5 presetUnfortunately my younger brother wasn’t there because he’s in the Army and is stationed in South Korea, but nevertheless, we called him a few times just to keep him in the loop of all our fun activities. If anyone knows me they know that I love my parents very much. Since I live in Los Angeles and they live in Indiana, communication is key to our relationship. Spending 2 hours on the phone with them is normal for us. They are my support and they believe in my dreams. I can’t say enough how much I  love them.

Through all the activities I was still able to have a little photoshoot with my buddy, Issac Berry. It has become a tradition for us to get together for photos whenever I am home.

We took these photos in my neighborhood. This is where I grew up and where I remember being a teenager and taking a ton of photos. Here I am still taking pictures and still enjoying every minute of it! For this look I am wearing a crop-top and pineapple shorts from H&M, Jean jacket from Banana Republic, and my heels are from Steve Madden. (Click on photos for shopping info)

Comment your thoughts below. Would you wear this look? Have you ever been to Indiana? Thanks so much for reading, everyone! I hope you have an awesome day!

You look so chic in that outfit! It’s really nice that you still have a communication with your family. 🙂 I’m also in a long-distance relationship with my family as well so internet is a necessity to us. Btw, I love the ensembles. It just shows off your beauty.

Hello Candice. You are blessed to have parents who love you and raised you in such a nice neighborhood. Of course how they raised you is the reason why you have a strong attachment to them, and they are blessed to have a daughter who loves to keep in touch. Talking for two hours is a lot of time. Ummm, but as nice as you are, you are nasty too. Telling your brother all the FUN things you have been doing while he is away? LOL!

  • Reply R U S S August 4, 2016 at 11:23 am

That was a brain fart in the first published comment, lol. Sorry.

I could live in your neighborhood – looks so clean & quiet. It’s good that you got to spend time with your family. With everyone being so busy, it sometimes is difficult to be all together at once but I guess we all need to make time, right? I am super loving your OOTD, btw. Lovely!

I love the trip down memory lane and I am obsessed with House of Cards too! My parents are also from South Korea and we are going on a trip there later this Fall so I am excited to go back and see the “motherland.” As for the outfit, those shorts are the cutest! The denim jacket completes the look with your beautiful smile. Thanks for sharing little tidbits about your life! xoxo, Christine
