Wow! I can’t believe I have been living in this crazy wild exciting city for exactly 4 years! Los Angeles is not just a city to me, it has become a place of growth. I moved here from Indiana on March 28, 2012 with three suite cases and a dream. I remember my first day in class at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising started April 1. So moving here was a world wind of emotions. When I look back on the four years I have reside here in LA I can only describe it as a learning experience of rejection, acceptance, and triumph. I have been through a lot here in LA but one thing that has remained consistent is my love for fashion. Read more
Yesterday I was able to attend the Fashion For Breakfast event hosted by Hollywood Reporter, Pret-a-Reporter, and The OUTNET.COM. The event was held at Cecconi’s West Hollywood, which is one of my favorite restaurants simply because of the beautiful interior decorating and of course their exquisite cuisine. Many of us dream of having a glam squad. A group of talented artists to do our makeup and hair. With Youtube, blogs, and loads of other forms of social media we are able to create celebrity styled looks on our own. But wouldn’t it also be nice to have a personal stylist at our finger tips creating looks for us as soon as we need them. Well today’s your lucky day because there is a free app specifically for your styling needs. It’s called Snap+Style where users can speak directly with their personal stylist without any hesitation!
Snap+Style is extremely easy and simple to use! After downloading the app you create your own personalized profile that shows your inspired styles that you like. You are then asked to pick items that you tend to invest in. My investment pieces included handbags, shoes, and jackets. After picking your investment pieces it’s time to choose your favorite colors. Do you like wearing red? Do you always go for black? Or maybe you have a color you always wanted to try; go ahead and pick those colors. At this moment it’s time to select the areas of your body you like to highlight. I chose my arms and legs. Now it’s time to select those fashion mistakes you try to avoid. I chose ruffles as my style to avoid because it’s never looked flattering on me. The next questions include:
-What shape are you?
-What size do you wear most?
-What is your height?
-What are your favorite brands to wear?
-What is your occupation?
-When is your birthday?
-Where do you live?
Lastly add your favorite selfie to your new Snap+Style profile. I really admire S+S for retrieving so many details about their users. Also there’s no limit on how many items or choices you desire to select. This is evidence that you will receive the exact fashion looks you desire!
One of the apps many features I enjoy include the ability to upload photos. It works as simple as this: Take a photo of the item you would like for your personal stylist to style around. You also can upload a photo right out of your photo library. This is great for those inspiration photos you may find on Instagram or tumblr. Instead of searching for those items myself, I can just send the photo to my personal stylist on Snap+Style to create a similar outfit with a unique touch that reflects my personal style.
Snap+Style has over 20 brands to choose from. DVF, All Saints, LOFT, Nordstrom, and Urban Outfitters are just a few of my favorite brands that are on the app. As I grow as a blogger I think it’s important for me to challenge myself to try new brands that are outside of my comfort zone. With my personal stylist on Snap+Style it makes it easier to complete my goals of trying other brands.

I recently bought a striped midi dress from Zara for only $30. I sent a picture of the dress to my personal stylist, Sari Zoe, on Snap+Style and she created this look for me. She suggested adding a leather jacket, sneakers, chandelier earrings, and a cross-body bag. With the help of Sari I was able to create this look right from my own closet.
Sari and I texted back an forth on the app on what different types of items I could wear with this dress. She showed me how I could dress up the midi dress with heel and a clutch. She showed me also how a jean jacket would work well with the dress too. It was a blast talking with Sari! I received so many great ideas from her!
I love texting my friends on the topic of what to wear or what looks good but not everyone is readily available to attend to my styling needs. With Snap+Style my personal stylist answers me in less than 30 min with several suggestions and ideas. If i don’t like something my stylist is more than willing to help me create the perfect look that I love.
I know some of us have busy schedules where even the idea of texting someone for ideas can seem like too time consuming. S+S has taken notice of all or needs and in their S+S Selects (under browse, tab at the top called S+S Selects) there you will find pre-selected outfits from our stylists. These outfits give you so many ideas on how to style your clothes for every event in your life!
